RESPONSIBLE DESIGN

We believe everyone can take small steps to be better stewards of our planet, and collectively, together we can make a difference.  Here's what we're doing:

• We are a floral foam free studio.  Traditional floral foam is actually a single-use plastic - so it's used once and cannot be reused again, and must be disposed in the trash.  It breaks down into microplastics, which affect our ecosystems.

• We collect and recycle any and all packaging that can be recycled, including cardboard, paper, plastics, and bags; we also extend the life of some of the packaging by using these materials to pack up floral designs for delivery. 

• We switched our rental cylinder candles from traditional paraffin pillar candles to vegetable wax pearled candles.  They burn cleaner, create very little waste (and the waste can be composted), and can be reused from one event the event while looking pristine and brand new every time.

• We compost our floral waste.

• We're conscious of our water consumption, and measure the water that goes into our storage buckets to ensure that the flowers get enough water, but aren't overly full.  Buckets of water that previously stored flowers are used to water our surrounding grass, gardens, and trees.

• We source flowers from local and american sources when possible to suit the couples designs.  When purchasing flowers globally, we strive to purchase from farms that are certified in responsible social and environmental practices.

• We encourage our couples to bring back any hardgood items from their wedding florals so they can be reused or repurposed.  Some of these items include bridal bouquet glass vases, water tubes, plastic reusable containers & chicken wire bases.

• We offer a select collection of rental items which because of their reusable nature, reduces the need to buy items for a single use.
